Award Winning Self Tanning Products

For those of you who love the glow of a tan, there’s so many products now to achieve a natural looking tan without the dangers of the sun. The quality of spray tans has definitely improved over the years as has the over the counter beauty products for self tanners. My favorite thus far is St. Tropez Self Tanning Bronzing Mousse. You apply it with a glove so it delivers an even application and there’s no possibility of orange hands.  And very important for us fragrance sensitive people…. it doesn’t smell like self tanner!!

Gradual self tanners are also an option for the fool-proof application. You apply it several days in a row to gradually build the desired color of your tan. St. Tropez Everyday Gradual Tan Body Moisturizer won the 2011 Allure Best of Beauty Award and InStyle Best Body Self Tanner 2012. It’s also available in a face version called St. Tropez Everyday Face Moisturizer.

If you do not like self tanners, Lorac TANtalizer won the 2011 Allure Best of Beauty Award. It’s a temporary tan, like makeup for your skin rather than a self tanner. The easy to blend formula won’t rub off until you shower. For the face, Nars & Guerlain also make award-winning bronzers to give that look of a sun-kissed appeal using makeup.

While celebrities are taking notice on the importance of protecting their skin from harmful UV rays, it’s just as important that we all do so daily. With skin cancer and melanoma on the rise, it’s important to be sun safe starting now. Seek the shade, wear your sunscreen, and find safe alternatives to get a natural looking glow.
